The video game industry has had thousands of people lose their jobs, with 30 major studios shuttered and 7 AAA titles cancelled in 2024 alone.

As game conglomerates continue to focus on optimizing expenses, thousands are left without jobs, and the quality of game releases become worse.

#SAVEPOINT is a social media campaign and non-profit charity dedicated to bringing awareness to the issues surrounding the video industry, such as layoffs, harassment in the workplace, and the failure of artistic expression protections. Our goal is to encourage gamers of all walks of life to hear our message and act upon it.


MISSION STATEMENT

AUDIENCE

This social media campaign is intended to reach out to the gaming community, particularly young teens and adults interested in game design and development. Those currently struggling, such as independent and recently laid-off developers, will also be directed towards #Savepoint.

goals

The primary goal is to spread awareness of the current poor conditions of the gaming industry – encourage gamers to purchase independent games or simply spread word in posts with the hashtag #Savepoint, directing users to the main Savepoint Instagram page to donate via a charity link.

platforms and engagement

#Savepoint will have various social media accounts but will be primarily based on Instagram. Users will be engaged via informational posts outlining the current state of the industry. The main Instagram page will have a donation link and resources for struggling developers.
